AA and SMART Recovery Meetings at EagleCrest Recovery

Probably the most recognizable form of addiction treatment starts with the phrase: “Hi. I’m Tom. And I’m an alcoholic.” As trite as it may seem to someone who is not in recovery, these programs are integral to the lasting sobriety of millions of people around the world.

The combination of successful results and peer accountability make addiction meetings one of the most powerful tools in addiction treatment. At EagleCrest Recovery, we offer two types of group meetings, both of which have powerful effects on clients and are incorporated into their lives often for many years after graduating from our program. They are Alcoholics Anonymous and SMART Recovery.

Our SMART Recovery Meetings

SMART Recovery was founded in 1994 and is an acronym for Self-Management and Recovery Training. This approach to addiction recovery helps individuals develop the proper skills they need to overcome their addictions in life. SMART is designed to empower individuals in a very practical way to enable them to achieve long-term sobriety.

SMART Recovery encourages individuals to reflect on their lives and weigh out the costs and benefits of using substances. This program then focuses on managing urges and minimize the temptations to relapse. SMART also focuses on examining and managing thoughts and behaviors in order to learn how to live a sober lifestyle.

Our AA Meetings in Benton County

Alcoholics Anonymous, commonly referred to as AA, started hosting addiction treatment meetings in 1935 to bring together people who were suffering from the same addiction. This program recognizes the difficulty in having to recover from addiction alone and provides support within a 12-step structure. These steps help bring you closer to your peers and make strong behavioral changes in your life to prevent you from relapsing.

Having a support structure in place can help you stay accountable for your actions and can serve as an effective way to maintain your sobriety over the long term.
